If You Need Help

If you are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing housing, the resources below can help connect you to services available throughout San Luis Obispo County. Coordinated Entry Access Points are locations where trained service providers can help you access shelter, housing assistance, case management, food and basic needs resources, healthcare connections, and other supportive services. Staff can also help you complete a Coordinated Entry assessment, determine what programs you may qualify for, gather important documents, and understand your next steps.

If you need immediate support, you can also contact the Central Coast Hotline, operated by Transitions-Mental Health Association (TMHA), at (800) 783-0607. The hotline is available 24 hours a day and can help connect individuals to crisis support, behavioral health resources, and other local services.

This page includes Coordinated Entry Access Points organized by region, as well as information about local warming centers. Warming centers are temporary overnight shelters that open during periods of cold or severe weather to provide a safe, warm place to stay. If you are unsure where to start, contact the access point closest to you or call the Central Coast Hotline for assistance.

ECHO is a non-profit organization providing shelter, food, showers, case management, and supportive services throughout the county, with a primary focus on North County communities. In Central San Luis Obispo County, CAPSLO will likely be your closest access point, with an additional access point located in Paso Robles. CAPSLO is a non-profit organization providing homeless services, housing access, prevention resources, and additional community programs throughout San Luis Obispo County. 5Cities Homeless Coalition is a non-profit organization primarily serving South County communities from Avila Beach to Nipomo, providing housing assistance, shelter services, case management, street outreach, and care coordination support. Additionally, 5CHC operates a warming center that opens on nights when temperatures are expected to reach 38°F or below, or when there is a 50% or greater chance of rain.
